INJECT!

It's August. Game on. There will be no big trade. THIS is the team that will take us down the stretch and into the playoffs. THESE are our guys. We need to make statement to BoSox. We need to ROCK the new stadium like we rocked the old one. We need venom.
Boston in town for four games: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Time to INJECT!

Joba will probably dust somebody on Thursday night. Things could get crazy ...

Sox are down right now. I wouldn't buzz anybody just yet if I were Joba. No need to fire them up. Let's just kick the shit out of them.

Last nights game, Friday night was one of the most exciting I have seen in some time. I actually stayed awake for the entire game perched on the edge of the recliner getting closer and closer to the floor with every inning. I am usually out cold and snoring by 10 pm. The Yankee bullpen showed me some real guts last night by going right after the Boston batters. They did not back down at all. Even Brian Bruney came through when he had too.
However, let me tell you something that really drives me crazy. You have Becket vs Burnett,in what everyone thought would be a well pitched game on both sides. That lived up to it's billing. In the 2nd or 3rd inning, the Yankees had runners on 1st and 2nd with no one out and did not have Melky bunting. This is baseball 101 in a game like this one. You had to know that this game could end up 1 to 0 as the final score. Why does Joe Girardi not bunt here? Please, I don't want to hear the lame Michael Kaye answer of they don't pay him to bunt. No, they pay the players to win! How many times do you see this situation and the batter hits into a double play. Then in the 12th, Johnny Damon comes up in a bunt situation and cannot execute the sacrifice! What has happened to the art of the bunt? "The Scooter" is spinning in his grave. I guess that is why they don't bunt. The multi million dollar player cannot execute a bunt.
Anyway, today is the day that the Yankees can put their foot on the throats of the Red Sox and push. A win today will demoralize the Bean Towners and all but send them home with their tails between their legs.
