Tough one. Love both, though they have very different managing styles. Lou is full of piss and vinegar and is pure fire. Joe is smooth and cool. Donnie is also in L.A. with Joe.
Still, I think I have to go with the Cubs, simply because they haven't won in 100 years. - Alan
Because it's more than 20 years ago, people forget what a good manager Lou was for the Yankees.
1986 - 90 wins
1987 - 89 wins
No deep pitching to work with, and no Wild Card at the time. Today, those teams would have made the playoffs.
He then goes to the Reds and upsets the mighty A's in the World Series.
He then goes to the Mariners and builds a great playoff team. One year, he wins 116 games - an all-time record.
Now, he has resurrected the Cubs.
Joe's great and he has four rings to Lou's one, but you really have to also respect Lou.
Anyone but the Red Sux.
I watched some of Game 1 and I think my thoughts might be changing. I don't really care that much about how long Cub fans have suffered. I think I'm pulling for Joe and Donnie ... - Alan
Joe! No question.

One of the things I love about NYC is that - despite the Yanks and Mets being out of it - WFAN is still all baseball talk this week. Talking Yanks and Mets ... trades, signings, what went wrong, how to fix it ... talking some playoffs ... it is a great sports town, but baseball is king.
Manny is an idiot for the way he laid down and quit on the Sox. It was disgraceful. The Sox were right to rid themselves of him. He disprespected his teammates and the fans.
Yet I dislike Sox fans so much that I think it would be funny to see L.A. kick the shit out of Boston in the World Series and have Manny be the M.V.P.
I'm going with the Rays and the Phillies.
You can't really hate the Rays. I'm sure if they continue to win over the next few years I will grow to hate them. But it's a nice story and they deserve it, they had a great year. Besides I can't root for the Angels or Sox.
The Cubs are well there the Cubs. If they were to win it would just upset the balance of the Earth.
Wouldn't mind the Brewers. They made great moves, and I like there "We're going for it" mindset. I think when Sheets went down so did they.
I would just hate to see Manny come up big and carry the Dodgers to a title. If for no other reason that I think that could cause the Yanks to make a big play for him. I have promised to lay off Damon. I have made my peace with him. But c'mon are you trying to kill me? I hold no ill will toward Torre, how could I? I love Donnie. Wouldn't it be nice if he got a ring? Yes, but a Dodger ring? Think about it.
So the Phillies. Hey I live here.
I can't route for Philly - the fans suck and the city sucks. Even every band I've seen there and somewhere else, the Philly show was worse. Every one.
I have to go with Lou, because Donnie with a Dodgers ring would suck worse than Philly.

This is the fifth straight year that Donnie has been in the playoffs as a coach. It is hard to win the World Series. Who knows how many chances he will get? I was on the fence bewteen Joe or Lou, but I saw Donnie in the dugout during Game 1, and that was it. I am 100-percent with Donnie.
After that, it's the Cubs. After that, it's anyone but Boston or Philth-adelphia. Most Philly fans are the lowest form of human life.
As I've said before, Philly fans are what Charles Darwin would refer to as "proof." I hate most of them with all of the hatred in my soul and I want them to have no joy, ever. They have some sort of penis-envy complex with NYC and they hate all New York teams. None of them would ever root for the Yanks. Fuck 'em. - MEL
Go Joe!
Watched some of Game 1 of the NLCS from Philly tonight and I must say that I am so thankful to be a Yankee fan and that I go to games at a stadium where there is no "towel waving." There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of poser fans - that come out of the woodwork when a team gets hot -waving towels at a baseball game. It's gay.
